Dr. Sand’s Patented System Efficacy
Dr. Sand’s proprietary platform delivers pH-modulating agents and other molecules unsuitable for oral or injectable administration, and typically unable to cross epithelial barriers. This novel emulsion technology transiently and reversibly fluidizes the skin’s lipid matrix and modulates tight junctions, enabling nondestructive delivery and improved pharmacokinetics.
Our deep expertise in emulsion chemistry enables us to expand the range of compounds that can be delivered through the skin, positioning transdermal administration as a viable and effective route for pain relief.
In 2022, scientists at Tampa’s Moffitt Cancer Center completed a successful Phase 2 study in which Dr. Sand’s proprietary patented system met its clinically relevant endpoint of reducing pain associated with the acidic microenvironment of acute gouty arthritis.
